Additive Manufacturing

Arc Additive Ltd

Our partners over at Arc Additive have been in the welding sector for many decades and joined forces in 2016 to integrate and expand upon their industry experience.

Materials they've much experience working with include:

  • Titanium, grade 5.
  • Inconel 625 & 718.
  • Aluminium 2319, 5556 & 7075.
  • High strength low alloy steel.

Here you can see one of their additive manufacturing pieces in alloy steel.

This montage shows the piece towards the beginning of the process. ER70S-6 steel was used for both user-friendliness and cost-effectiveness for trial pieces.

The cobot welding cell being used here is provided by Fronius.

Additive Manufacturing

Inconel 718

Here's a part created in less than 2 hours. The last photo shows the part fully-machined.

The aim here is to alleviate long lead-times, especially when they're causing safety issues or downtime.

Additive Manufacturing

Fronius Demo

The case for additive manufacturing includes the premise of using only the raw materials required to make a part - rather than creating the part from a block piece thereby creating waste.

This premise requires adequate stress tests to ensure that the process is a robust viable replacement.

Siemens

Siemens Industrial Edge

Imagine versatile robots capable of adapting roles and functionality with intuitive and real time responses to challenges and tasks?

Furthermore, imagine not only a capacity to be aware of true parameters of random tasks in the moment, but so too the ability to communicate and teamwork with the robots in your vicinity?

B&R

Skoda Aprol Case Study

“The investment in condition monitoring has already paid off through a significant increase in production capacity and zero unscheduled downtime.

Thanks to this project, the sprockets in our paint shop are working perfectly, without a single fault.

We’ve gone from 2,180 automobiles per day to 2,200. So we’re already planning to implement early-warning diagnostics for our ventilation system as well.”

B&R

B&R Partnership

2M has been a B&R Qualified Solutions Partner for a decade. As such, we’re always curious to learn about B&R’s latest offerings to market. APROL is B&R’s process control system, optimizing data collection and processing to allow the system to monitor, adjust, and control with real time responses on the go.

B&R

APROL Launch

Launching to market in 2016, it’s interesting to see how APROL has been integrated into plants since then, and the impact that it’s having.

We’ll be presenting our own APROL condition monitoring application at B&R Innovation Day in April at the Williams Formula One Conference Centre.

We’re very much looking forward to seeing and hearing how other partners and clients have embedded the system and used it to their advantage also.
