Fresh from picking delicious apples in the New Zealand summertime of 2018, though slightly tired from the manual labour, Ben joined 2M as his graduate job with a keen interest in robots.
Having contributed to the winner of the Fastest Robot Of The Year Award at the University of Manchester Electronics Engineering School in 2015, Ben enjoys seeing developments through from design to mechanical assembly and beyond. This design completed a racetrack maintaining control and a central position in under 20 seconds.
This Mechatronics graduate particularly enjoyed the control systems aspects of his degree, including the mathematical underpinnings. Ben has already begun programming Fanuc robots as part of his projects.
I like turning my hand to brewing ales in the cupboard under the stairs, literally. Still waiting for my Hogwarts school invite, not sure if owls can get into our building though.
So far I’ve experimented with dark and broody brews.
Really enjoying bouldering at the minute and getting to grips with climbs throughout Manchester and its pretty fringes including the Peak District.
There’s nothing like hot fresh out of the oven bread and thankfully I’ve the patience to trust the process, bringing good results!
